In the Galaxy Unpacked event organized by Samsung today, the foldable Galaxy Z Fold 2 model was planned to be announced in addition to the Note 20 series. However, the Korean manufacturer surprisedly introduced a “preview” for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2!
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is here with its official details!
Contrary to expectations, Samsung did not fully announce the Galaxy Z Fold 2 at today’s event. Instead, a small preview of the foldable phone’s design and display features was made. The Galaxy Z Fold 2, which has a 7.6-inch display on the inside, can be used with a second screen of 6.2 inches when the lid is closed. Improving the screen / body ratio of the second screen of the phone is seen as an important development to increase the usage experience. In addition, a perforated concept, not a notch, was preferred on the interior screen.
The details other than the design and screen information will become clear in a different launch planned for September 1. As the reason for the brand’s surprise move, the Galaxy Note 20 series is shown as the desire to take a stronger place in the market. However, some information shared by XDA simultaneously with the launch reveals the phone’s technical features almost completely.
Technical Features
According to the shared data, the inside 5:4 ratio screen will be equipped with Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. In addition to the 1.768×2.208-pixel resolution, the adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz is seen as an important innovation. The alleged S Pen support for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 will not be offered because it is not compatible with the Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) structure of the phone. In addition, the 25:9 ratio Super AMOLED display on the cover will also have a resolution of 816×2,260 pixels.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, which will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor, will come with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The triple camera on the back is equipped with 3 sensors, each with a resolution of 12 megapixels, like the first version. The camera package, which is stated to be taken from the Galaxy S20, also includes OIS support. The dual camera on the front will have a resolution of 10 megapixels.
The phone, which is stated to have a 4.500 mAh battery, will feature 25W wired fast charging, 11W wireless charging and reverse charging. The price of Galaxy Z Fold 2, which will be available in black and bronze color options, will also be clarified at the launch to be held on September 1.
