In this review, we have a phone that looks quite ambitious with a new price/performance balance. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 lite has been with us for a while. We have been using this phone, which comes with Xiaomi’s new Redmi Note series, for a while and we can say that it is a model that we liked very much during this time. In this review, we will talk about the reasons for this, we will take a closer look at the design of the Mi Note 10 lite, its performance evaluation and comparisons with its competitors.
Design of Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite
Mi Note 10 lite is a beautiful, stylish phone with its design. With curved lines on both sides, the phone is 157 mm long, 74 mm wide and 9.7 mm thick. Yes, the phone is a little thick. Although it tries not to show it with its rounded lines, it makes you feel it in your hand. In fact, if we start comparing it with the design right away, the Mi Note 10 lite is a full 1 mm thicker phone than the Galaxy Note 10 lite. On the other hand, it is a fact that it is heavier. The weight of the Mi Note 10 lite is 204 grams.
However, in Mi Note 10 lite, glass material is used on the back. While there are traces of plastic material in many phones in this segment, we obviously liked the glass surface protected by Gorilla Glass 5 in Mi Note 10 lite. Again, in Galaxy Note 10 lite, we see that there is a glass-like plastic material called “Glassic” by Samsung.
While the circumference of the phone is protected by an aluminum frame, we see the volume and power buttons on the right side. Next to this side is the SIM card drawer. While the Mi Note 10 lite is a dual SIM phone, it is a pity that it does not include microSD card support.
On the lower edge of the phone, there is a speaker grille, USB-C port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, while the Mi Note 10 lite is a single speaker phone. The stereo speaker is unfortunately not available.
What are the screen features of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 lite?
The screen size on the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 lite is 6.47 inches. The resolution of the screen is 1080×2340 pixels. With the help of curved lines, the edge frames are kept very thin and we have a very wide field of view.
While the screen comes with HDR10 support, the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, just like the back surface. However, there is no protection film on the screen, you will have to wear it yourself. There is a silicone case inside the box, with which you can put the back of the phone under additional protection.
The screen of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 lite consists of an AMOLED panel, just like Samsung’s models of this class. However, it looks better than them in terms of brightness. Especially when we put the full price rival Galaxy A71 and name rival Galaxy Note 10 lite next to the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 lite, we can see that the screens of the Samsung models remain yellower. The screen brightness of the Mi Note 10 lite can reach around 600 nits on average, which is really high. So, we can say that the screen brightness of the Mi Note 10 lite is at an exceptionally good level.
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Technical Features
When we come to the technical features of the Mi Note 10 lite, we see that the phone has an 8-core Snapdragon 730G processor. The phone, which provides power in the 2.2 GHz Kryo 470 Gold and 1.8 GHz frequency Kryo 470 Silver core packages, has 2 cores in the form of prime, while the other 6 are efficiency oriented.
Depending on the processor, the phone has Adreno 618 graphics unit, while the model we have includes 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Of course, this phone has a different 128 GB model. Since the phone does not support microSD cards, if you are considering purchasing it, it may be a better decision to choose the 128 GB one.
The Mi Note 10 lite is a model that has a good balance with its competitors that meet the needs of its segment in terms of technical staff and performance.
The phone, which scores 268 thousand 914 points from the AnTuTu Benchmark test we conducted, sits right next to the price competitor Galaxy A71 with this score. But if we look a little further on the table, here we see the Galaxy Note 10 lite. While this model produces better results in terms of performance, let’s say that the AnTuTu result is 342 thousand 115 points.
Let’s move on to the Geekbench Benchmark. Here, Xiaomi Mi Note 10 lite, which collects 547 points with a single core score, also gets 1765 points because of the multi-core. With this score, the Mi Note 10 lite, which is in the same place in the table, on the other hand, offers close performance and much better price compared to OPPO Reno 3 Pro.
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Performance
In terms of daily use, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 lite will be a phone that you will be very pleased with. It comes with Android 10 operating system and uses its own interface, MIUI 11. The phone, which has a very aesthetic appearance and is easy to use, provides more than enough performance for daily application use.
The game performance of the phone is also sufficient. You will not have any problems in PUBG, and Asphalt 9 derivative games and you will get a smooth usage. It provides a nice gaming experience and the phone also works cool. We can say that it does not heat up significantly even under load.
By the way, you can see the fingerprint sensor on the phone screen. Another security method alternative to this sensor that can be used fluently is face recognition via camera.
Finally, let’s say the following: Xiaomi Mi Note 10 lite has aptX HD and apTX Adaptive support, NFC comes with Bluetooth 5.0 support, and 802.11ac is on the wireless Wi-Fi side.
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Battery Life
The battery of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 lite is 5260 mAh. With this large battery, Mi Note 10 lite, which is one of the models with the largest battery among this class of phones, is a phone that you can take off for roughly 1.5 days with its battery life.
Mi Note 10 lite, one of the most energy efficient phones, can play videos for almost 19 hours over the internet. In our classic Full HD video test, the Mi Note 10 lite, which we achieved 23 hours in total, can be charged serially with the 30-watt charger included in the box. You can charge the phone to full capacity within 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 lite Camera
Let’s come to the cameras. Mi Note 10 lite is an ambitious phone with its cameras. Mi Note 10 lite, which is one of the mid-segment models that is now better against flagships with its camera capabilities, has 4 cameras at the back. While the Mi Note 10 model we reviewed previously had a 5-camera setup, the main camera on this phone was 108 MP. In Mi Note 10 lite, the main camera is 64 MP.
The main camera used in the Mi Note 10 lite has the Sony IMX686 sensor. By default, you need to turn this setting on from the interface, as in many phones, to shoot 64 MP with the phone that can take 16 MP resolution photos by pixel grouping.
The 64 MP main camera has f/1.9 aperture and phase detection and laser offocus. While the 26mm wide-angle lens is similar to the Galaxy A71 with these values, it offers more than the Galaxy Note 10 lite in terms of technical infrastructure. However, it should not be forgotten that Galaxy Note 10 lite also has OIS. There is no OIS on the Mi Note 10 lite.
The second camera is ultra-wide-angle 8 MP, while the third camera is for 2 MP macro shots. The 4th camera of the phone also appears as a depth sensor with 5 MP and f/2.4 aperture.
An important detail for the phone’s rear camera block is visible in the flashes. The Mi Note 10 lite, which has 4 LED flash support in yellow and white, stands out from its competitors in this aspect, while the rear camera can record 4K/30 frames, and it can also record 120fps slow motion in Full HD resolution. In HD resolution, you can record slow motion videos up to 960 frames.
Camera Performance of Xiaomi Mi Note 10 lite
The photo quality of the Mi Note 10 lite is very impressive. The phone, which can capture extremely beautiful frames, especially in good lighting conditions, can take vibrant, sharp, and detailed photos without over-saturating the scene thanks to its high dynamic range. You can also get a better level of detail when shooting in 64 MP format.
You can access 0.6x, 1x and 2x shooting options on the phone, while you can also zoom up to 10x. The phone is not very assertive in 10x images, but it does not give bad results.
You can use the phone’s portrait shooting capability on both the front and back cameras. We saw that it produced good photos in the sample shots we made.
Artificial intelligence, which you can turn on and off from the camera interface, can automatically recognize the scene and shoot accordingly.
The camera of the Mi Note 10 lite stands out a bit when taking photos in poorly lit environments compared to more expensive smartphones. Of course, the clarity of the photos decreases a little when you shoot under these conditions. Let’s also say that you can take advantage of night mode here. In low-light environments, you can turn on the night mode to reduce the blurring and bring them back to their true colors. Also, the level of detail is improving relatively.
However, we did not like the night shots of the front camera. As the light conditions begin to decrease, the grain emerges, and the quality of the shots you take on the street at night is also greatly lost. In the meantime, let’s also say that the front camera is 16 MP. With the front camera that can record HDR and Full HD/30 frames video, you can take beautiful selfies under proper light.
